MOLD CHAMPS! PAGE 4 |

I must have had time to write longer entries in my journal. Here's my entry for July 23, 2004. I found it very interesting that this rather small inn in Hampton, has had such important guests. But then, Exeter is a few miles down the road. How many U.S. presidents have graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy? _____________________________________________________ My next journal entry is July 30, 2004, the day before I was admitted to the Norwalk hospital. In the eight days between the 23 and the 31, John and I had driven a large part of the East Coast, visiting many people and eating many different kinds of food.

Marcy prepared a wonderful dinner that evening. By that time, John's brother Brian had also driven in to DC.

By July 27, 2004, we had driven to Southern Virginia where we stayed with David and George in the cabin on Lake Cahoon. By this time, I had shaved off my Van Dyke. Look at my hands. Do you see anything unusual? Again, I don't.

By the time of my next journal entry on July 30, 2004, we were back in CT. I was making big plans. Some things came to pass. Others did not.
John took this photo of me in front of Radio City in Rockefeller Center. This was still in the morning. We ate lunch around the corner at a TGIF. I had a walnut and mandarine orange salad. My hands still look OK. Granted, I had gained about ten pounds since the beginning of the trip. This is one of the last photos I took on July 30, 2004. We were at the Guggenheim. The temperature outside was 105 degrees. This person had found a shady spot that Frank Lloyd Wright might not have anticipated when he designed the building. By the same time the next day, I would be in the ER at Norwalk with a temperature of 103 and swollen hands with blood blisters. The staff had to cut my wedding ring off my finger.
